Day 1

You will be warmly welcomed to Scotland at Edinburgh Airport and escorted to your coach for the 30 minute transfer the Apex Hotel, in the historic Grassmarket.

Nestled in the heart of Edinburgh's historic Old Town, the Grassmarket area is one of the most vibrant, picturesque and convivial areas of the city. A paradise of independent merchants, designers and artisans, the Grassmarket is bursting with shops, restaurants, bars and pubs. The area has a dark and intriguing history and atmospheric character accentuated by curious architecture.

The Apex, a contemporary 4 star hotel with technological and communications systems in every room, is situated right in the centre of the Grassmarket. The hotel features a swimming pool, gym, a tropicarium, steam and sauna, as well as award winning cuisine and bar.

This evening you are free to relax after your journey, and enjoy the wide range of restaurants and bars in the area. We would be delighted to give you our recommendations!

Day 2

Your coach will collect you after breakfast and transport you to Glenkinchie Distillery for a tour and tasting.

Glenkinchie Distillery, which was founded around 1825, is situated about 15 miles from Edinburgh and set in rolling East Lothian farmland. After the tour and tasting, lunch will be at Archerfield Walled Garden near the pretty village of Gullane. You are warmly invited to a private whisky tasting in Charlie's tasting rooms at his home.

Back to Edinburgh, time to relax and change before strolling to Michael Neave Kitchen and Whisky Bar for dinner. The menu features the best of Scotland's larder cooked with enthusiasm and passion by a young Scottish chef. The bar not only boasts a great selection of whiskies, but also interesting beers, gins, rums, wine and champagnes.

Day 3

Travelling by coach to The Moulin Inn in Perthshire this morning will take around two hours, bringing you to the inn in time for lunch. The inn has been a delightful haven of authentic Scottish highland hospitality since 1695.

After lunch you will travel the short distance to Edradour Distillery, where you will enjoy a tour and tasting at Scotland's smallest distillery.

Before heading to this evening's accommodation there will be time for a lovely treat - a visit to The Highland Chocolatier for a tasting and peek at his production workshop.

On to dinner at your 4 star luxury hotel, Knockendarroch. The hotel is privately owned and offers guests classic elegance, comfortable rooms, scenic views and friendly service.

Day 4

Your journey this morning will take you north by coach to Speyside to visit Cragganmore Distillery; a beautiful journey into the highlands. After a tour of this distillery we will have lunch at The Glenfiddich Restaurant in Dufftown.

Cragganmore is the proud producer of one of the most complex and characterful malts in the region.

You will dine and stay the night at the Craigellachie Hotel, which lies within the Malt Whisky Trail and boasts the internationally acclaimed Quaich Bar, where over 600 different single malts await both novice and connoisseur alike.

Day 5

Ballindalloch Castle, home of the Macpherson Grants since 1545, is our first stop this morning, to admire the house and enjoy the spectacular gardens. Ballindalloch is one of the most beautiful and romantic castles in Scotland, and is filled with family memorabilia, antique furniture and a fine collection of 17th century Spanish paintings.

Lunch will be at The Archiestown Hotel, in the heart of Speyside. The hotel has provided first class hospitality in this sleepy, historic town for 200 years. After lunch you will enjoy a tour and tasting at Macallan Distillery in the heart of the beautiful rolling countryside.

After dinner, back at the hotel, we will watch The Angel's Share, starring our very own Charlie, and have a dram or two!

Day 6

Today we return to Edinburgh Apex for a final night in Edinburgh, which we will celebrate with dinner at award-winning Ondine. Lunch will be en route at The House of Bruar which also has great shopping. The journey will be leisurely, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful scenery and perhaps stop for a few photographs along the way.

Day 7

Your Scottish experience comes to an end today. After bidding farewell to Edinburgh you will return to airport by coach.
