A cognac kingdom was born on the banks of the Charente River in Cognac city. The distillery dates to 1814, but A. De Fussigny was born in 1987.

They do not have their own vineyards but work with farmers and distilleries sourcing grapes from the Grande and Petite Champagne, to create an exclusive range of eaux-de-vie. In addition to cognac, they produce organic vodka and brandies.

    A. De Fussigny’s approach has been consistent: melding French tradition with innovation and modernity, which is reflected in their different award-winning expressions.

The company takes its commitment to sustainability seriously. Over the years, they have made their bottles lighter to cut the quantity of raw materials used, they use local and natural materials for their gift boxes, they have introduced recyclable and biodegradable corks in some ranges, and they favour local production with the objective of sourcing 85% of dry materials from France by 2023.

In 2001, they became one of the first to launch an organic cognac, VSOP Pure Organic. In 2022, to mark 20 years, they have released a Pure Organic range, which is packaged sustainably, with compostable corks and recycled paper labels. Their 2050 Organic Cognac comes in a Green Gen Bottle, made up of flax fibre and organically sourced resin.

    A. DE FUSSIGNY XO FINE CHAMPAGNE COGNAC

    40% ABV — 700 ml

This Fine Champagne blend is distilled from two of the best cognacs in the Grand and Petite Champagne regions of France, Grande Champagne eau-de-vie and Petite Champagne.

The youngest eau-de-vie is 10 years old and the oldest, up to 25 years old. This blend of Champagne terroirs aided with a slow (at least ten years) maturation process creates a wonderfully rounded, complex, and elegant Cognac. It is presented in a bottle that would look equally at home on a dresser or liquor cabinet.

Deeply amber with flashes of mahogany, this spirit is best consumed neat, with ice or with a dash of water to open the flavour. Pair it with strong cigars or caramel and chocolate-based desserts.

Tasting Notes: Full bodied and complex, it has a bouquet of dried fruits and subtle notes of some winter spices evolving into the aroma of oak barrels. It sits beautifully on the palate, with caramelised fruits, spices and some sweet berries and marmalade. The long finish has notes of toffee, tobacco and some hints of black tea and leather.
